You already appreciate all that the Finger Lakes offers.

We’ll show you why that includes black walnut trees, too.

Crack and maple glaze your own black walnuts right on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail! Black Squirrel Farms, home of the first licensed black walnut processing facility in NYS, is now offering site tours from Sept 21 – Nov 19 and then we will take a seasonal pause. Come hear the story of a tree that doesn’t grow in the woods. Learn about the black walnut tree, its place in the pre-European settlement New York landscape and the history of black walnut processing. See our own approach and how we’re figuring out new ways to make this unique North American renewable resource more accessible, useful and appreciated.

Our 2023 tours kick off in April, 2023. Tickets are $25 each (kids 8 and under free).

Our tours can accommodate group sizes of up to ten. If you want to purchase tour tickets now for specific times or dates, contact Emily at emily@tylerseneca.com for a personalized 50% off discount code before booking. Also, if our standard tour doesn’t work for your group, we may be able to create a customized or private solution.

Do you live near Penn Yan, Sterling or Binghamton NY and have black walnut trees of your own?
